In the gulag for nothing

 A man gets thrown in a gulag, and the other prisoners ask what he was arrested for.

"I was sentenced to ten years, but I did nothing, I swear!"

"Don't lie, doing nothing only gets you three years!"

Some variants have this as a gulag official asking a newly transferred prisoner, or change the length of the sentence for 'nothing.'
